Happy Wednesday, PMA teachers!
Just over one week left until the recital is here, and the chaos has arrived.
Enrollment has been closed, and Opus info has been updated/locked as well. Please make sure your students know proper etiquette (taking a bow/curtsy, not talking during performances, controlling their drumsticks when not playing, etc) and that they know to arrive 30 minutes before their session starts. We want to ensure everyone is present for their session, as it is absolutely not fun to have to tell someone they missed their time slot. Laura, myself, and others will be present to help facilitate where students should go, check in, etc. If you are attending, please touch base with your students before they perform to talk them through the process, calm nerves, do any warmups, or to simply show support. These situations can be scary for students of any age, so to know you are there for them is a huge boost. Additionally, any help you can offer at the conclusion of the Saturday session will be extremely valuable and appreciated!
If you have any questions or concerns about the recital, come find me or refer to both recital documents on the teacher resource page. One is more from a teacher perspective, the other geared more toward students and how to make it worthwhile for them.
As a side note, PMA will be closed November 22-25 for Thanksgiving break. Time off requests are not needed if you are traveling DURING those days. We will be back open on November 27 for regular classes.
If you have any concerns, please come find me or reach out. Front desk staff (Laura, Nicole, Bri) is juggling a million things, so ANYTHING teacher-related should come my way to help them focus on what they need to get done in these crazy times. Thanks for making sure that our students keep coming back and trusting us through your teaching and personalities. We couldn’t do it without you. Let’s knock out these next 10 days in style!
