Good morning teachers, and Happy Wednesday!
Only two more Wednesdays left after this one until we are in the midst of our Christmas break!
This week’s words cover a few topics, so please peruse the riveting, thrilling, informative text below to stay on top of your game!(
PMA is rolling out more masterclasses, as we’ve had some pretty resounding success from our Vocal Mic/Technique class with Kaylin and our Bucket Drumming class with Jameson. Thank you both for running a great class and setting the bar high for us! If you visit the teacher resource page, you will be able to view different masterclass options/sign up for ones that you are interested in running! These classes are NOT recurring classes- they are a one-off, single visit for students who have enrolled. Classes are 45-60 minutes in length and are paid at your normal rate, enrollment numbers are capped, and these workshops are a great opportunity to impart some of your specialized knowledge/skills onto a captive group of students.

I would next like to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our teachers who have subbed, covered last-minute, and helped maintain an even flow at the academy over the last few weeks. It has been a little crazy recently with end-of-year illness/shows/travel plans/life situations impacting so many of us, but I can honestly say I’m proud of us for making it happen and pretty successfully at that. Huge, HUGE THANK YOU to the front desk for making life as easy as it can be for us and for putting together some amazing outcomes given the circumstances. All of that being said, if you have requested off and will be missing any time, PLEASE make sure to provide your sub notes at least one week beforehand. It is important to note that your pay can be docked for not doing so, and can also be docked if you are subbing and not using provided notes. If you do need to call out sick, please let us know as soon as you can, and if you’re able, please send us some basic notes to make sure your students get the best possible lesson while you are recovering.
Second Saturday is happening again on 12/9. Student performances will be happening all evening, and this is a great chance to come hang and spend the evening supporting local vendors while enjoying some Christmas cheer. We look forward to another fun evening in Downtown Peoria!
If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please reach out and let me know. I’m happy to help in any way that I can. Here’s to a strong close to 2023!
