Violin lessons at the Peoria Music Academy offer the ultimate opportunity to explore or learn classical, movie/video game theme music, pop, country, and bluegrass music. Lessons are designed to teach students the fundamentals of technique, ear training and more, using a variety of musical styles to enhance the learning experience. Whether you are looking for a traditional musical experience, fiddle, country, or even rock influenced lessons, our instructors are ready to provide the best instruction available.

What’s the #1 reason to study the violin at the Academy?‍

Our violin instructors are warm and friendly, and we get to know each student and parent on a personal level. We work with you to craft a lesson plan that fits your individual needs using your favorite type of music. Whether you’re a seven-year-old taking their first lesson or a professional who is already playing in local bands, we’ll set goals to help you achieve your musical aspirations.

What styles of violin do you teach?

We teach all styles from classical to modern.

How qualified are your violin instructors?

Our violin and music instructors have received their education from prestigious institutions such as Manhattan School of Music, BYU, Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Arizona Christian University, California State University, University of North Texas, University of Southern California, Northwestern. Many have toured the US and Europe, and bring over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons.

What will I learn from violin lessons at the Academy?

Beginner students can expect to work on folk songs, scales, classical melodies, pop songs, sight reading and theory. Our instructors balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new technical challenges or theory concept, and ends with something fun, such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books as well as standard violin repertoire.

Do I need to purchase a violin to learn the instrument?

Yes, to practice at home, you will need to have an instrument available. However, you do not need to purchase an instrument as there are many options available for renting all types of stringed instruments at our location.
